Find your quarter
Take the date on the company’s articles of organization or incorporation. The calendar quarter it falls in sets the due date, every year, for as long as the company exists.
- Formed in January, February or March: due by March 31, every year.
- Formed in April, May or June: due by June 30, every year.
- Formed in July, August or September: due by September 30, every year.
- Formed in October, November or December: due by December 31, every year.
Not sure when your company was formed?
Search it by name or EIN. We read the formation date from the state’s record and show the next report due.
Companies formed elsewhere
An out-of-state company registered to do business in Wisconsin files on the quarter of its Wisconsin registration, not the quarter it was formed in at home. It files its home state’s report as well, on that state’s own date.
Questions
Can I file before my quarter starts?
Wisconsin accepts the report in the months before the due date, but not years ahead. File in your quarter and you will not be early or late.
Does the quarter change if the company converts or merges?
A conversion usually keeps the original formation date. A new company formed by a merger takes the date of the merger. Check the record after any change.
